I only ever saw one video before - the "stop making me defend Trump" one - and I thought it was great. Balanced and accurate - hate to defend the guy, hate to hear people spreading outright lies about him instead of just focusing on the true stuff. But this one just missed the mark for me. People making "whatabout" comments aren't just deflecting to some random topic or bad thing. They're typically pointing out either a double standard or hypocrisy on behalf of the complainer. Some people DO make terrible whatabout arguments, like when people would claim about "NAZIS IN UKRAINE" (which are statistically like some tiny, tiny <1-2% fraction of the population and does not represent the whole) or, ironically, medically-necessary abortions due to health of the mother (_also_ some tiny <1-2% fraction of all abortions). Their goal is to transform the argument to talking about the edge cases/exceptions rather than the normal cases/the rule. That said, on some underlying level, all "what about" arguments are bad - because hypocrisy doesn't justify bad behavior. If Billy steals pokemon cards, I don't get to as well and then cry and go "WHAT ABOUT BILLY?" The hypocrisy of the judge is not a factor in whether or not whether my actions are correct. But when the "judge" here is just some random guy, their hypocrisy sure makes them easier to dismiss.
